Back in Hobart

Here are a few photos of what I saw during my walk.

This is the B and B, Edinburgh Gallery, where we spent our first night in Hobart:

It’s a nice old building, but damn those powerline – they ruin many a good photo!

This is St David’s Park, a lovely inner-city green space with big old trees on the route to Salamanca Place and the Hobart waterfront:

Just around the corner from the park, and on the waterfront, is the Tasmanian Parliament House:

As with any photo-shoot of Hobart, kunanyi-Mt Wellington features strongly in my pictures.  At 1270 metres high and only eight kilometres from the centre of the city, it looms over Hobart as a defining feature.  This is Salamanca Place, with the mountain rising behind the repurposed sandstone colonial-era warehouse buildings: 

While there are plenty of pleasure craft and historical boats along the waterfront, this is also a working waterfront – these are cray-fishing boats in Victoria Dock, with kunanyi-Mt Wellington in the background:

It’s great to be back!  There’s plenty more favourites to see in Hobart, but that’s a good start.
